New School Uniforms Needed
In a country where socio-economic disparities are prevalent, uniforms can help mitigate the stigma associated with poverty. All Nepali students in the school wear the same school uniforms to promote the sense of unity and belonging among the students. The school uniforms eliminate the pressure to keep up with the fashion trends, reducing the financial burden specially to Children’s Home. Overall providing school unforms for the underprivileged kids in Nepal not only addresses socio-economic inequalities but also enhances their educational experience and opportunities for success.
The cost per uniform is $92 - including trousers, skirts, shirts, sweaters, sports clothes, ties, shoes, belt, socks. There are currently 48 girls and 18 boys from the “brother” organization Mahendranagar. A uniform typically lasts for 2 years and there are also a lot of hand-me-downs if the clothes are still intact.
